HCM City, French businesses foster ties in urban transport development

NDO – Ho Chi Minh City is highly interested in urban transport development, and wishes to receive cooperation from foreign enterprises in this sphere, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, Tran Vinh Tuyen, has said.

Tuyen made the remark at a working session with a delegation of French businesses operating in the field of urban transport and railways, headed by Vincent Floreani, French Consul General in HCM City, on March 7.

The official expressed his delight at the finely growing relations between the two countries as a whole, and between HCM City and French localities in particular, whilst speaking highly of the interest and cooperation of the French business delegation.

He affirmed the city’s pledge to create favourable conditions for French companies in order to facilitate their cooperation and investment in areas of mutual concern.

According to Vincent Floreani, French Consul General in HCM City, transport development is an important and typical area of cooperation in the France-Vietnam strategic partnership.

For his part, Vincent Floreani thanked the municipal leaders for having supported French firms to effectively implement a number of component projects under the Metro Line No. 1 project, as well as several other projects on the waterways and airway transport in HCM City.

Discussing the potential for cooperation between the two sides, he affirmed that transport development is an important and typical area of cooperation in the France-Vietnam strategic partnership.

At the working session, representatives of the French businesses introduced techniques, services, machinery, and equipment used in the field of urban transport, alongside a number of smart transport management technologies available at present. They voiced their wish to cooperate with HCM City in component projects of the Metro Line and urban railway projects.
