State budget revenues fall 2.8%

Nhan Dan - State budget revenues totalled VND393,500 billion (US$18.9 billion) in the first seven months of this year, equal to 53.1% of the year's estimated collection and down 2.8% against the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Finance.

However, the State budget spending in the past seven months reached VND498,160 billion, a 15% increase over the figure for the corresponding period last year.

The Finance Ministry reported that the extra expenditures were used for socio-economic development, national defence and security, administrative management, salary reforms and social welfare, and also to respond to natural disasters.

In the first seven months, the capital disbursed from the State budget accounted for 50.7% of the estimated annual figure and capital disbursed from Government bonds reached 36.7% of the target set for the year.
