VND6.2 trillion allocated for Mai Dich – Nam Thang Long highway

Nhan Dan – Construction of the Mai Dich – Nam Thang Long elevated highway, part of Hanoi’s third ring road, will begin in December 2015, with a total investment of nearly VND6.2 trillion (US$297.6 million), according to the project owner.
The six-kilometre section of highway begins at Km0+558, south of the Mai Dich flyover and ends at Km5+493, south of the Thang Long Bridge. The four-lane elevated highway is 24 metres wide and is capable of handling vehicles travelling at speeds up to 100 kilometres per hour. The project is scheduled to be completed in May 2018. Part of Hanoi’s third ring road from Bac Linh Dam to Thanh Xuan opened to traffic earlier on June 30, and the Thanh Xuan – Mai Dich section is scheduled to be completed by the end of October 2012.
