A delegation from the National Assembly led by Vice Chairman Huynh Ngoc Son is paying a working visit to Cambodia from December 2-4.
The delegation was received by Heng Samrin, Chairman of the Cambodian National Assemby, and Tep Ngon, Cambodian Senate Vice President, in Phnom Penh on December 3.
At the reception, the hosts spoke of their high regard for the effective co-operation and assistance the Vietnamese NA has provided Cambodian legislative bodies in recent years, saying that such co-operation reflects the fine friendship and solidarity between the two countries.
Both the hosts and the guest agreed that the two countries’ legislative bodies will continue boosting information and experience sharing, and assist each other in human resources capacity improvement to increase the quality of legislative activities for the benefit of the two peoples.
The same day, Chairman Heng Samrin and Vice Chairman Huynh Ngoc Son cut a red ribbon to mark the completion of an information technology project, which was presented by the Vietnamese NA to the Cambodian side.
The project, costing more than US$1 million, is comprised of a network of 500 computers and laptops with broadband Internet, an E-Office for 500 users, and IT training for Cambodian NA Secretariat.
During the delegation’s visit, Vice Chairman Son paid tribute to and laid a wreath at the Vietnamese Volunteer Soldiers Monument in Phnom Penh and visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia.
