NDO – Belgian singer-songwriter Axelle Red will perform in Vietnam from March 10 to 20, as part of an across-Asia tour to promote her new album.

The 49-year-old artist will commence her tour in Vietnam with an evening of music at the French Institute in Hanoi on March 18, followed by a performance at the campus of Can Tho University in southern Can Tho City on March 19.

She will conclude her three-day tour of Vietnam with a show at the Ho Chi Minh City Opera House on March 20.

Red’s Vietnamese tour will also serve to promote her album Rouge Ardent (Ardent Red), which marks the singer’s 20th year in the music industry.

Born in the city of Hasselt in northern Belgium, Red released her first album Sans Plus Attendre (Without Further Delay) in 1993 to immediate critical and commercial success, selling more than 200,000 copies in the French, Swiss, Canadian and Belgian markets.

Between 1993 and 2013, the pop singer released a total of ten albums, making her one of the most popular artists in her home country.

Outside of her singing career, Axelle Red is also a leading activist for the rights of children and women in war-torn regions and developing countries, having been an ambassador for the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) since 1997.
