NDO - The annual international fireworks competition opened in the central city of Da Nang on April 30.

For the first time, the event has become a two-month festival in order to attract more visitors to the city.

Austria and Vietnam showed off their interesting firework performances on the opening night.

According to the organising board, 22,000 tickets were sold at the opening ceremony.

Themed “Shining Marble Mountains”, this year’s festival promises a lot of activities to entertain visitors in addition to the eight nights of fireworks on display from April 30 to June 24.

Visitors can join barefoot runs on sand, taste food and beer at international cuisine and beer fairs, contemplate statues at an international sculpture show, study the local Cham culture, or be entertained at street carnivals.

The festival saw the participation of eight teams from eight countries – Switzerland, Japan, China, the United Kingdom, Italy, Australia, Austria and Vietnam.
