NDO - The 2017 K-pop Lovers Festival and national qualifying round of K-pop World Festival are being held at the Korean Cultural Centre in Hanoi from May 10 to 13, bringing together 26 K-pop fan clubs in Hanoi.

The fan clubs have brought hand-made products to the festival featuring their love for their idols, original albums with signatures of the singers as well as posters and stickers of their favourite bands.

The highlight of the four-day event is the 2017 K-pop singing and dance contest’s final round scheduled to be held on the evening of May 13, in which the FCs will show off their dancing skills. 19 K-pop dance teams and individuals will have the opportunity to perform, along with the participation of Vietnamese singers Vu Cat Tuong and a band from the Republic of Korea (RoK), B-boy Wild Monkeys.

The outstanding contestants will represent Vietnam in the qualification round of the K-Pop World Competition in Changwon, RoK, in September.

The festival has been held annually since 2013 by the Korean Cultural Centre in Vietnam (KCC) in co-ordination with the Republic of Korea’s Administration of Tourism with the aim of connecting K-pop fan clubs in Vietnam.

Lee Dae Joong, who is Director of KCC, anticipated that the event would fulfill its mission of uniting Vietnamese K-pop fans, thus contributing to boosting cultural exchanges between young Vietnamese and RoK generations.
