NDO – The seventh Science Film Festival 2017 will take place from October 7 to December 7 in 28 cities and provinces across Vietnam with the screening of 19 short science films.

The main theme of this year’s Science Film Festival is the “Anthropocene”. The term refers to the fact that for thousands of years humans have impacted and changed nature. Today, we experience Anthropocene through climate change and our natural world is facing a crisis.

The film program not only reflects on these problems but also shows us the beauty and vulnerability of the ecosystems on our Earth.

The films will be synchronized in Vietnamese and, aside from screenings for adolescents and children, there will also be games and experiments which will deepen the process of learning and understanding.

The opening ceremony will be organised at Kim Dong cinema, in Hanoi, with the festival taking place in Hanoi from October 7 to 18. Following, the event will visit schools and cultural centres across the country.

Organized by the Goethe-Institute and THD Education Solution Ltd., the Science Film Festival is an initiative of the Goethe-Institute which aims to promote science education and creative learning in Vietnam.

Last year, 36.000 viewers attended 300 screenings in Vietnam and this year the organizers hope that the festival will once again attract parents, teachers and students of all ages.
