NDO - A series of activities under the theme "Festival of Childhood" will be held during August at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Hanoi's Son Tay town, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on August 1.

Activities will be held daily or at weekends, featuring the culture and characteristic customs of 12 ethnic minority groups who are operating in the village and create an end-of-summer playground for children.

Within the framework of the festival, the General Department of Sports and Physical Training will hold the 20th National Youth Wrestling Tournament 2018 at the village, gathering 120 young wrestlers from across the country.

Children aged 6-15 can also take part in a drawing contest themed "My Central Highlands" with the award ceremony scheduled for September 1.

Puppetry performances on the topic of childhood will be on show at the village, conducted by artists from the Vietnam National Puppetry Theatre.

Visitors to the village this August will also have an opportunity to admire the images of childhood and participate in painting contests, folk games, rural markets, pottery making, cake making, among others activities.

The Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism welcomed approximately 328,000 visitors in the first six months of this year, reaching 60% of the year's target.
