NDO – Two signature dishes of Vietnam, ‘pho bo’ (beef noodle) and ‘nem ran’ (friend spring rolls), were introduced to students at the Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics at a programme held by the Vietnamese Embassy in Ukraine on September 19.

The first-ever activity was designed as part of the training programme of the university’s Hospitality Business Faculty. It is also among series of activities hosted by the embassy to celebrate the Vietnam Culture Year in Ukraine 2018.

At the event, Vietnamese culinary experts introduced the country’s culinary culture to the participants, providing them with materials and recipes to cook the two Vietnamese dishes.

Addressing the event, the spouse of Vietnamese Ambassador to Ukraine expressed her hope that the activities would help Ukrainians learn more about Vietnam’s culture, land and people, thus contributing to tightening the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

While enjoying the Vietnamese dishes, Vice Rector of the university, Valery Say, highly appreciated the Vietnamese embassy for hosting the event, calling for more joint activities between the university and the embassy in order to strengthen the cooperation in training and cultural exchanges between Vietnam and Ukraine.
