NDO—As part of a series of activities to celebrate the visit to Vietnam by Japanese Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko, an exhibition entitled “Charming Beauty of Vietnam and Japan,” featuring fabric paintings and products made from genuine Japanese fabric, opened at Hanoi’s Exhibition House at No. 45 Trang Tien Street on March 3.

The highlight of the exhibition was two fabric paintings by Japanese artist Noriko Yasui.

The two large paintings, which are assembled from various pieces of cloth, are the perfect combination of the Japanese kimono and Vietnamese silk.

In particular, this is the first time a collection of 100% premium silk kimonos has been introduced in Vietnam.

The exhibition also introduces many Japanese fabric collections and traditional Vietnamese ao dai made of Japanese fabric.

The exhibition will run until March 7.
