Winners of Vietnam Fine Arts Association Awards honoured

NDO—The Vietnam Fine Arts Association Awards 2017 were presented to four outstanding works of fine art at a ceremony held in Hanoi, on September 18.

First prize went to the work entitled ‘ ‘Chuong’ (Bell) by artist Ku Kao Khai from Ninh Binh province. One second prize was presented to ‘Le Cau Mua Cua Toi’ (My rain praying ceremony) by Nguyen Cong Van from Ninh Thuan.

Two third prizes were presented to Tran Giang Nam from Bac Kạn for the work ‘Trang Kim Hy’ (Kim Hy Moon) and Dang Xuan Hiep from Hanoi for the work ‘Nang chieu’ (sunshine).

In 2017, the fine art exhibitions were held in eight areas across the country, with 1,322 works being submitted by 1,228 artists. Arts councils at the fine art exhibitions honoured 92 outstanding works from the eight areas, including four A prizes, seventeen B prizes, twenty C prizes, and fifty-one consolation prizes, including five prizes for Art Criticism.

On the occasion of the event, the 2017 “For the Cause of the Fine Arts in Vietnam” medals were presented to organisations and individuals for their contributions made to fine arts in Vietnam.
