NDO/VNA – Vietnamese firm Vo Trong Nghia Architects won two prizes at the 10th World Architecture Festival, which took place in Berlin, Germany, from November 15-17.

The company won the Office – Future Projects category with the Viettel Offsite Studio. The Vietnamese telecom group’s new studio is located on a slight slope between a lake and treelined landscape on the outskirts of Hanoi. The six V-shaped wall-blocks which were freely arranged follow the lay of land and are connected by an open corridor.

It also won the House – Completed Buildings award for Binh House in Ho Chi Minh City. The house serves as a family home and sets a new benchmark for dense urban living. Architecturally the house draws on a strong modernist tradition.

The company has entered the event three times earlier and brought home eight awards.

Founded in 2006, Vo Trong Nghia Architects is a leading architectural firm in Vietnam with offices in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. More than 60 international architects, engineers and staff work on cultural, residential and commercial projects worldwide.

By experimenting with light, wind and water, and by using natural and local materials, the company employs contemporary design to explore new ways to create green architecture, whilst maintaining the essence of Asian architecture.
