Light festival to delight HCMC audience on New Year's Eve

NDO - A New Year's Countdown festival combining lights with modern and traditional music will take place at the Nguyen Hue Walking Street in Ho Chi Minh City on New Year's Eve.

The event will bring together hundreds of actors, actresses, singers, and artists from home and abroad who are expected to delight local residents and visitors.

Overseas Vietnamese artist Tuan Le, who is well-known for plays including "Lang toi", "À Ố" and "Teh Dar", will be the stage director and Michael Choi will be the music director at the festival, said the festival's Organising Board at the press brief held on December 21.

Throughout the night, audience will be pleased with the modern and traditional music accompanied by light which convey stories of a modern and traditional Ho Chi Minh City.

The event will see the participation of Vietnamese artists including Thanh Bui, Phuong Vy, Ngo Hong Quang, Kieu Anh, among others. In particular, artist Ngo Hong Quang will play traditional Vietnamese musical instruments while young artist Kieu Anh will perform Ca Tru (ceremonial singing), promising to fascinate audience.

In addition, international artists such as Apl De Ap, The Lyricist, and Jessica Reynoso, among others are expected to bring energy to the stage.

Artist Thanh Bui said that overseas Vietnamese artists across the world always wish to contribute to the hometown, adding that the festival will be a good opportunity for Vietnamese and foreign artists to join hands and boost the images of Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam in the process of international integration.
