NDO – Painter Nguyen Thu Thuy, responsible for the Ceramic Road along the Red River dyke in Hanoi has introduced ten new installations of roses at the ongoing Bulgaria Rose Festival at Hanoi’s Thong Nhat (Reunification) Park.
Introduced by the Embassy of Bulgaria to the festival organisers, Thuy was very excited and enthusiastically proposed creative ideas to decorate the beautiful space on the Hoa Binh (Peace) islet at the park.
In particular, at the centre of the festival is the Heart of Roses made from 5,000 red-orange and 1,000 white roses by Thuy. Next to it is another one of Thuy’s creations, a ceramic heart in the shape of a rose with the message “I love you” in the middle made from dyed ceramics and stones.
Thuy said that she and her staff had to work until 3 am to complete the installation on time to be featured at the opening ceremony on the morning of March 3.

Inspired by curled rose petals to create a rose of pure beauty, the artist created a beautiful installation of coloured pebbles to form a red heart. The work has attracted lines of visitors to take photos at the festival.
On the water of Bay Mau Lake, Thuy also recreated the Heart of Hanoi’s Love as she made previously over Truc Bach Lake in 2014, but at Thong Nhat Park the work was made of leaves and roses.

There are also four canvas paintings on the theme of roses in four styles and different colours and tones by Thu Thuy and a group of artists from Tan Hanoi on display at the Bulgarian Rose Festival.

On the other side of Bay Mau Lake a double swing chair was installed in the shape of Long Bien Bridge.

Thuy shared that she was very happy and felt the joy of creativity and dedication to the public after her works were warmly welcomed by the public.
"I have made so many hearts, perhaps because I am so in love with Hanoi, my family, friends, relatives, teachers, colleagues, as well as with roses and the beautiful flowers of Hanoi. As the upcoming International Women's Day approaches, through these works, I would like to convey best wishes to all women," Nguyen Thu Thuy said.
