National Assembly Chairwoman presents gifts to social welfare beneficiaries

NDO - National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan on July 17 visited and presented gifts to sick and wounded soldiers being cared for at a nursing centre in the central province of Quang Nam.

At a meeting held on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Wounded and Fallen Soldiers Day, which falls on July 27, NA Chairwoman Ngan presented 106 savings booklets worth VND2 million each to families of fallen and wounded soldiers, and Vietnamese heroic mothers.

The NA Chairwoman expressed her deep gratitude to martyrs, invalids and their families for their great contributions and precious sacrifice in the struggle to defend the country’s independence.

She affirmed that the Party, the State and people always remember and are grateful for the great contribution and sacrifice of generations of heroic martyrs and invalids and take responsibility for taking care of them and their families.

Earlier in the day, the NA Chairwoman and the NA delegation offered incense and laid a wreath at the Quang Nam Fallen Soldiers’ and Heroes’ Memorial and the Vietnamese Heroic Mother Statue in the province.
