President pays pre-Tet visit to Kon Tum province

NDO – President Tran Dai Quang visited and conveyed his Tet greetings to the officers and soldiers of the Ro Koi border guard station in Sa Thay district, Kon Tum province, on February 2, as part of his ongoing working tour to the Central Highlands.

Praising the significant achievements that the border guard station has gained over the past few years, the State leader asked the unit to encourage local ethnic compatriots to actively participate in border sovereignty and security protection and management, whilst building a positive image of the border guard soldiers.

The Ro Koi border guard station must strictly abide by all directives on combat readiness and organise spring and Lunar New Year (Tet) celebrations for locals in a safe and economical fashion, he stated.

Visiting the Party organisation, authorities and people of Ro Koi commune, President Quang expressed his sympathy for the difficulties faced by the ethnic compatriots in the border area, whilst highly appreciating the commune’s initial achievements in fulfilling its socio-economic development tasks and improving the spiritual and material lives of local people.

On the same day, the President visited and presented Tet gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Dang Thi Thu in Kon Tum city’s Duy Tan ward. He also extended his Tet greetings to the Most Venerable Thich Quang Xa, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Council and Head of the Executive Board of the Kon Tum provincial Buddhist Sangha.
