NDO - Spring is coming. The 87th spring of the country, since the Party was established for the sake of the Vietnamese people. The initial torch by former President Ho Chi Minh lit up the nation after many dark years of slavery, and led our country along the revolutionary road toward independence, freedom, prosperity, happiness, democracy, equity and civilisation.
NDO—At the invitation of Klaus Schwab, executive chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF), Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation will attend the WEF’s 2017 annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland.
NDO—The official visit to China made by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at the invitation of Chinese General Secretary and President Xi Jinping has concluded successfully. The Vietnam-China Joint Communiqué, which was issued at the end of the visit, said the visit had contributed to enhancing mutual trust, strengthening the traditional friendship between the two states and deepening the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between them while helping to promote peace, stability and development in the region and around the world.
NDO - At the invitation of Chinese General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, Vietnamese Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has begun his official visit to the People’s Republic of China. This is General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s first official visit to China since the 12th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
NDO - A year of numerous challenges has past. The global and regional political situation continues to see complicated developments, especially in the East Sea. Natural disasters, droughts, saltwater intrusion, climate change and the maritime environmental incident in some central provinces lead to negative socio-economic impacts, especially in regards to production and people’s living conditions.
NDO - Today, the entire Party, army and people are celebrating the 72nd founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) and the 25th anniversary of the All-People’s Defence Day, along with various activities to mark the 70th anniversary of National Resistance Day (December 19) and efforts to successfully implement the Resolution of the 12th Party Congress.
NDO—Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, along with a high-level delegation of senior officials from the Royal Government of Cambodia, arrived in Hanoi on December 20 to kick-start his two-day official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of his Vietnamese counterpart, Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
NDO - Today, the entire Party, people and army of Vietnam are proudly commemorating the 70th anniversary of the National Resistance Day (December 19, 1946-2016). On September 2, 1945, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and announcing to the world that “Vietnam has the right to be a free and independent country and in fact it is so already. The entire Vietnamese people are determined to mobilise all their physical and mental strength and to sacrifice their lives and property in order to safeguard their independence and freedom”.

NDO—Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong began his official friendly visit to Laos on November 24 at the invitation of Lao Party General Secretary and President Bounnhang Vorachith. This is the first official friendly visit by the Party chief to a foreign country since the conclusion of the 12th National Party Congress in late January.
NDO – President Tran Dai Quang, his wife and a high-ranking delegation of Vietnamese officials, on November 21 began the five-day State visit to Italy and the Vatican at the invitation of Italian President Sergio Mattarella and Pope Francis.
