Deputy PM appreciates role of Vietnamese expatriates in Singapore

NDO – Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh appreciated the role of Vietnamese community in Singapore while visiting the Vietnamese embassy and talking with representatives of the Vietnamese community in Singapore on July 15.

The meeting was part of the Deputy PM's activities during his official visit to the country from July 13-15 at the invitation of Singaporean Deputy PM Teo Chee Hean.

He informed the Vietnamese embassy’s officials and employees, as well as the Vietnamese expatriates, of the country’s socio-economic situation, particularly the State’s policies and the Government’s efforts to boost reform to ensure that the Vietnamese economy integrates more successfully into the world.

Deputy PM Binh expressed his pleasure at their achievements and stable life, highlighting how they have become an important bridge connecting the two countries.

He expressed his hope that the overseas Vietnamese in Singapore would continue to uphold their solidarity and contribute to the prosperity of the host country, building a beautiful image of Vietnamese people in the eyes of their international friends.

Deputy PM Binh asked the Vietnamese professors, scientists, experts and students who are living, working and studying in Singapore, to make further contributions to the development of the fatherland.

On the occasion, the Deputy PM asked the embassy, along with other agencies, to continue to make more efforts in enhancing the strategic partnership with Singapore, serving the nation’s interests, as well as promoting the work of the community, consular affairs, cultural diplomacy and people's diplomacy.
