Party official holds working sessions with Far Eastern leaders

NDO/VNA – Head of the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission Nguyen Van Binh held working sessions with Russian Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev, and Governor of the Primorye region Vladimir Miklushevskii in the Russian city of Vladivostok on September 5.

Binh has been in Vladivostok to attend the third Eastern Economic Forum from September 5-8.

At these working session, Binh said exports-imports between Vietnam and the Far East are not competing with but are rather supplementing each other, thus creating favourable conditions for two-way trade.

The Far East’s new investment encouragement policies are also opening up cooperation potentials and opportunities in economy, investment and trade between the two sides, he added.

The officials also expressed their belief that the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership will further grow in various fields, especially in the Far East which boasts abundant natural resources and serves as a gateway for Russia to the Asia-Pacific region, including the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and Vietnam.

On this occasion, Binh witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the People’s Committee of northern Hai Phong port city and Primorye region.

As scheduled, Binh will deliver a welcome speech at the opening of the third Eastern Economic Forum on September 6.
