Vietnamese diplomat receives Hungarian accolade

NDO – Vietnamese Ambassador to Hungary, Nguyen Thanh Tuan has been honoured with Hungarian Cross of Merit for his significant contributions to the friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Hungary.

Speaking at an awards ceremony in Budapest on November 13, Levente Magyar, State Secretary for Economic Diplomacy at the Hungary’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, hailed that Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Tuan has been established as an experienced and prestigious diplomat who has contributed to bringing Vietnam-Hungary relations to a new height by proposing and arranging bilateral high-level meetings.

The ambassador was also applauded for his effort to foster political dialogue between the two sides, promote bilateral cooperation in economics, culture, education and training, as well as his support to the operation of Hungary- Vietnam friendship Association and the Vietnamese community in Hungary.

At the function, Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Tuan said it was his honour to receive the noble State Order of Hungary, expressing his thanks to Hungarian leaders to providing him with the most favourable condition to fulfil his mission during his working term.

He pledged that in any working position in the near future, he would contribute making further contributions to fostering and developing traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Hungary.

Following the awards ceremony, State Secretary Levente Magyar, received outgoing Vietnamese ambassador Nguyen Thanh Tuan, who bade farewell after concluding his working term in Hungary.
