NDO/VNA - Ho Chi Minh City Secretary Nguyen Thien Nhan has expressed his wish to boost trade and tourism ties with New Zealand, particularly in the export and import of farm produce.

During a reception for New Zealand Ambassador to Vietnam Wendy Matthews on December 4, Nhan lauded New Zealand’s strength in agriculture, adding that the country has poured US$57 million into 15 projects in the city, a modest figure compared to the potential for investment.

Matthews, for her part, described education as a key field in terms of connecting the two countries.

She vowed to reinforce the education and trade ties with Ho Chi Minh City for the sustainable development of the two countries.

On the afternoon of the same day, Ho Chi Minh City Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong hosted a reception for the Premier of Ontario, Canada Kathleen Wynne.
