Cambodian Friendship Order conferred on Vietnamese citizens

NDO - The Cambodian government has awarded Friendship Orders to a number of Vietnamese individuals and organisations for their outstanding achievements in organising the activities for the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Year 2017.

The awards ceremony took place on February 7 in Ho Chi Minh City in the presence of Keo Ba Phnum, an advisor to Cambodian PM Hun Sen, and Vietnamese Deputy Defence Minister Nguyen Chi Vinh.

On behalf of the Cambodian government, Keo Ba Phnum presented the Thibadin order to five Vietnamese agencies and the Sena order to seven Vietnamese citizens.

Speaking at the ceremony, Keo Ba Phnum spoke highly of the assistance provided by the Vietnamese Defence Ministry in the making of a documentary on Cambodian history and culture.

For his part, the Vietnamese Colonel General Nguyen Trong Nghia expressed his sincere gratitude to the Cambodian government for awarding many such honours to Vietnamese individuals and organisations.

He affirmed that the two countries’ armed forces will continue to cooperate in the future, helping to strengthen the fine long-standing bilateral relationship.
