NDO – The northern mountainous province of Bac Kan should continue to focus on accelerating agricultural restructuring, in association with building new-style rural areas over the coming time.

Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh made the statement while working with Bac Kan province’s Party Committee on March 16.

Addressing the working session, she appreciated efforts made by the provincial Party Committee, government and people to promote socio-economic development over the past 20 years.

Vice President Thinh noted that the province should create favourable conditions for enterprises, particularly newly-established ones.

She urged local managers to set out policies to attract more enterprises to invest in tourism development, minerals exploitation and processing, medical plants and afforestation.

Earlier on the same day, the Vice President visited Quan Binh commune – the first new-style rural commune in Bac Kan province, to present 80 gifts to policy beneficiary families, disadvantaged households and exceptional students living in difficult circumstances.

She also presented an amount of VND200 million, which was deducted from the Vietnam Children's Support Fund, to the province’s Children’s Support Fund.
