Party and State leaders pay tribute to war invalids and martyrs

NDO – Party and State leaders throughout the country held numerous meaningful activities on July 15 to pay tribute to the war invalids and martyrs who sacrificed their lives for national liberation and people’s happiness.

Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue laid a wreath and offered incense at Road 9 National Martyr Cemetery and Truong Son National Martyr Cemetery in Quang Tri province to pay tribute to heroic martyrs.

In addition, the Deputy PM offered incense to the legendary General Vo Nguyen Giap at his tomb at Vung Chua – Dao Yen area, Quang Dong commune, Quang Trach district, Quang Binh province, as well as pay tribute to ten young female volunteers who died on duty at the Dong Loc T-junction during wartime in Can Loc district, Ha Tinh province.

On the same day, General Ngo Xuan Lich, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission and Minister of Defence, visited and presented gifts to sick and wounded soldiers at the Thuan Thanh nursing centre for wounded soliders, in Bac Ninh province.

During the meeting with the sick and wounded soldiers at the centre, Politburo member Lich affirmed that the Central Military Commission and Ministry of Defence always pays great attention to policies for revolutionary contributors.

On the occasion, the Defence Ministry decided to present an ambulance, 104 air-conditioners and a blood pressure monitor to the centre, as well as 96 cotton coats for sick and wounded soldiers, worth a combined total of over VND1.9 billion,.

Also on July 15, President of Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee (VFFCC) Tran Thanh Man visited and presented Heroic Vietnamese Mothers and wounded soldiers in Da Nang city.

The VFF President emphasised that the Party and State always cares for revolutionary contributors, particularly the heroic Vietnamese mothers and families of war invalids and martyrs. He also asked the city’s management agencies to make more efforts to support policy beneficiary families.
