Tran Quoc Vuong appointed as Secretariat’s permanent member

NDO - Politburo member and head of the Central Inspection Committee Tran Quoc Vuong has been appointed as the permanent member of the Secretariat.

The decision was announced following a meeting of the Politburo members on March 2.

Vuong will replace Dinh The Huynh, who retired as the permanent member of the Secretariat and chairman of the Central Theoretical Council for long-term medical treatment.

The vacancy left by Huynh in the Central Theoretical Council will be filled by Nguyen Xuan Thang, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics.

Nguyen Quoc Vuong was born in 1953 in the northern province of Thai Binh.

He has held many important posts prior to his latest appointment, including Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People’s Procuracy of Vietnam and Head of the Party Central Office.
