NDO – Tran Quoc Vuong, permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat, has asked Phu Yen to continue to renovate the Party’s leadership and accelerate Party building and the reinforcement of the political system.

Politburo member Vuong made the request at a working session with the Standing Board of the Phu Yen provincial Party Committee on July 6, which forms part of his working trip to the south central coastal province from July 4 to 6.

Phu Yen needs to drastically streamline its administrative apparatus pursuant to the PCC’s resolutions, while actively facilitating the Party’s corruption and inspection work, he said.

The official urged the province to make use of its long coastline and favourable transport infrastructure to boost tourism and aquaculture development, expand the local forest coverage and create breakthroughs in the processing industry and in high-tech agriculture development.

As reported at the working session, in the first half of the 2015-2020 tenure, the provincial Party Committee issued six action programmes, three resolutions, and many directives and plans to implement its socio-economic development tasks. Phu Yen’s total social investment in 2016-2017 reached VND25.78 trillion (US$1.13 billion), while its total export revenue hit US$134.6 million in 2017, equivalent to 13.46% of the five-year target.

On the occasion, Politburo member Vuong worked with the Party committees of Song Hinh district’s Ea Trol commune and Tuy Hoa city’s Phu Dong ward, while visiting and presenting gifts to policy beneficiary families in the locality. He also visited the No-number Vessel relic site and paid a field trip to Vung Ro port.
