NDO/VNA – Potential for cooperation between Vietnam and Laos remains huge, especially in economy, said Nguyen Van Binh, Politburo member and head of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee’s Economic Commission.

The Party official made the statement in Hanoi while receiving a delegation from the National Economic Research Institute (NERI) of Laos, led by its head Bouasone Bouphavanh, in Hanoi on March 20.

Politburo member Binh spoke highly of the Lao delegation’s working visit and congratulated Laos on its significant achievements after three years of implementing the Resolution of the 10th National Congress of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party.

Vietnam always treasures and gives priority to the development of Vietnam-Laos special relations, he affirmed.

The great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos have been nurtured and passed down to many generations of leaders and people of the two nations over the years, he added.

Bouasone Bouphavanh, who is also former Prime Minister of Laos, lauded Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements over the recent years.

He also expressed his hope that cooperative ties between the NERI and Vietnamese agencies will reap positive outcomes in the coming time.
