NDO – Vietnamese team CLGTftMeePwn topped the global security competition WhiteHat Grand Prix – Global Challenge 2017, which concluded on December 17, becoming the first Vietnamese team to triumph at the event.

Achieving a total of 7,211 points, the CLGTftMeePwn team dethroned the championship title team 217 from Taiwan (China), who topped the 2016 event, to win the US$ 10,000.

With 6,111 and 4,611 points, the first and second runners-up were team 217 and team Dogfish from the USA, receiving US$ 2,000 and US$ 1,000, respectively.

The WhiteHat Grand Prix – Global Challenge was launched in 2014 on a national level by WhiteHatVN.com, the leading cyber security forum in Vietnam. In July 2015, the company began rolling out the global competition quarterly.

The competition aims to create a venue for the cyber-security community to share experiences and techniques with others, while keeping them updated on the latest technologies in cyber security.

Taking place continuously over 24 hours, from 02:00 UTC December 16 to 02:00 UTC December 17, online at https://GrandPrix.WhiteHatVN.com/, this year’s competition focuses on the theme ‘Vietnam Heritages’.

It attracted the participation of 452 teams from 62 countries and territories from around the world including the US, the Republic of Korea, Poland, Ukraine, Australia, China and Italy, who were tested on reverse engineering, web security, forensics, and cryptography.
