NDO—Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh paid a visit to the Ho Chi Minh City Cadre Academy (HCA) on December 19.
Deputy PM Binh praised the achievements of the academy in the past and asked the academy to continue upgrading its training programmes towards learner-centric education, as well as to educate students effectively.
In addition, teachers also need to renovate studying and teaching methods, promoting learners’ creativeness and self-awareness, aiming to improve the quality of education to meet current demand, he noted.
Praising the academy’s past achievements, the Deputy PM also expressed his belief that, owing to the experience accumulated during the 50 years since its formation and development, the HCA would make further accomplishments while contributing to the national defence and construction.
Over the past 50 years, generations of staff and teachers have exerted themselves to develop the academy into one of the leading cadre training centres in Vietnam.
The academy currently has 158 officials and staff members, 97% of them with Master’s degrees or higher. In the 2016-2017 academic year, the Academy held nearly 300 classes with more than 27,000 students.
