NDO - The Vietnamese language course held in Yekaterinburg city aims to help children of the Vietnamese community to master Vietnamese through a textbook designed specifically for overseas Vietnamese.

The Consulate General of Vietnam in Yekaterinburg in cooperation with the Association of Vietnamese in Sverdlovsk province jointly launched the "Vietnamese language class" for children of the Vietnamese community in the city of Yekaterinburg, on June 4.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Consul General Ngo Phuong Nghi spoke highly of the efforts made by the Leadership Board of the Vietnamese community in Sverdlovsk province and the officials working at the Consulate General for opening the class in a bid to help local Vietnamese children to master their mother tongue.

Nghi emphasised that the teaching of the Vietnamese language also helps the younger Vietnamese generations in Yekaterinburg to nurture a love for and preserve the national identity, while enhancing their understanding on the history and traditions of Vietnam.

Chairman of the Association of Vietnamese in Sverdlovsk province Le Thanh Do, expressed his deep gratitude for the support of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Yekaterinburg and donors, as well as the close coordination of parents in organising the Vietnamese class at the Hanoi Trade Centre, in Yekaterinburg, which is home to a large number of Vietnamese people and enterprises.

Attending the class, children will be taught Vietnamese through the syllabuses compiled by the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training, which have been designed specifically for overseas Vietnamese.
