Physicians honoured for contributions to public healthcare

NDO – Politburo member Hoang Trung Hai has expressed his deep gratitude to the dedication and contributions of leading professors, experts and medical staff to public healthcare.

The Politburo member, who is also Secretary of Hanoi municipal Party Committee, hosted a meeting with leading professors, medical experts and directors of central and Hanoi’s hospitals on February 26, on the occasion of Vietnamese Doctors’ Day (February 27).

On behalf of the city leaders, Politburo member Hai conveyed his best wishes to scientists, medical officials, physicians and medical workers in the health sector on Vietnamese Doctors’ Day.

He praised efforts by medical staff in striving to improve their profession and applying high-tech in diagnosis and treatment, contributing to improving the capacity of grassroots healthcare network and strengthening the protection and care of the people's health.

Hai informed the delegates that the capital city is implementing multiple publicity campaigns to raise people's awareness of disease prevention and treatment through encouraging periodic health checks, early screening for cancer, and establishing personal medical records, in addition to building a family doctor network.

He expressed his wish to receive suggestions from the experts for the city's health sector development, meeting the requirements for Hanoi’s target to become a smart and modern metropolitan city.

* On the same day, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Tran Thanh Man visited and conveyed his best wishes to the Vietnam Medical Association on Vietnamese Doctors’ Day.

Speaking at the meeting, Man expressed his hope that the association would continue to promote and mobilise more leading experts to participate in the examination and treatment for the people, while contributing their suggestions for mechanisms and policies related to the health sector and social criticism.

On the same day, Man also visited Hanoi’s K Hospital to send his best greetings to the hospital’s staff.
