HCM City's Party Secretary visits hospitals on Vietnamese Physicians' Day

NDO - Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City's Party Committee Dinh La Thang visited medical workers at several hospitals in the city on February 26 to celebrate the 62nd anniversary of Vietnamese Physicians' Day (February 27, 1955-2017).

The Secretary met with doctors working at Military Hospital 175, the Hospital of Tropical Diseases, the Oncology Hospital, and the Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital.

The city leader congratulated medical workers on the occasion of Vietnamese Physicians' Day, saying that hospitals should co-ordinate closely with each other to care for people's health, contributing to building a city of high living standards.

On the same day, the city's Party Secretary attended a ceremony to inaugurate a branch of Go Vap Hospital at No.641 Quang Trung Str, Go Vap District.

The hospital covers an area of over 13,300m2 with 22 departments and 300 beds. It is equipped with modern equipment and received a total investment of over VND470 billion (US$20.68 million).

Director of Ho Chi Minh City Health Department Nguyen Tan Binh said that the operation of the Go Vap Hospital branch will help ease overloading in central-level hospitals and improve the health capacity at grassroots-level hospitals as well as enhancing healthcare quality.

In addition to the new branch, the Go Vap Hospital continues its operations as usual at No.212 Le Duc Tho Str, Go Vap District.
