VFF leader congratulates medical staff on occasion of doctors’ day

NDO—Politburo member and President of Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee (VFFCC) Nguyen Thien Nhan on February 27 visited and congratulated Ministry of Health (MoH) on the occasion of Vietnam Doctors’ Day (February 27).

The VFF President appreciated the great contributions of the medical sector’s staff to the cause of care for and the protection of the people’s health.

He also emphasised that doctors and medical workers around the country have relentlessly devoted themselves to bringing joy and happiness to patients, significantly contributing to improving the people’s health.

The VFF leader highlighted the great results that the medical sector achieved in the past year, such as the comprehensive improvement of the attitude of medical staff in serving patients and the PAR Index of the MoH up 9 spots over 2015.

He agreed with the ministry’s direction of proactively and promptly preventing and controlling diseases, with the aim of providing comprehensive care for the people’s health.

On the same day, many provinces and cities around the country, including Can Tho, Ninh Thuan and Bac Giang, held various activities to celebrate 62nd anniversary of Vietnam Doctors’ Day.

Earlier, on February 26, Vietnam Association of Medicine and Pharmacy (VAMP) in Russia held a ceremony in Moscow to mark Vietnam Doctors’ Day. At the event, the VAMP’s Vice Chairwoman reviewed both achievements and limitations in the association’s operationa and set out tasks for the coming time.

The association gave awards to five students who are studying in Russia for their outstanding achievements in the past year.
