Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Viet Tien said that the international medical and pharmaceutical exhibition hosted by Vietnam has become a prestigious annual event (first held in 1994).

The exhibition is a chance to introduce guidelines and policies of the Party and State in relation to medicine, as well as new advances and achievements of the domestic and international medical industry.

It also aims to open up opportunities for domestic and foreign businesses to introduce, promote, exchange, and seek partners, expand markets, and transfer technologies in the field, thus improving efficiency in production and business, while contributing to improving people's health, Tien affirmed.

Participants at the four-day event display a wide range of health products, equipment, technologies and services, including medicine; functional foods; hospital-clinic, dentistry, and ophthalmology technical equipment; healthcare products; chemicals; and high quality healthcare services.
