NDO - Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh visited and presented scholarships, each worth VND1 million (US$44), to 200 poor Cham students living in Ho Chi Minh City, on September 3.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the Deputy PM said he was pleased to know that many Cham students have overcome various difficulties in order to achieve good academic results.

He added that although the value of each scholarship is not high, it reflects the care of the community towards disadvantaged Cham students, helping them to continue their studies.

Deputy PM Binh expressed his hope that the students will follow Uncle Ho’s teachings to children and make further efforts to become good citizens.

He also asked the local authorities in Ho Chi Minh City to introduce more policies to support ethnic students so that they will not have to skip school.

On the occasion, the Deputy PM also presented 100 gifts to poor Cham households in Ho Chi Minh City.
