Work starts on Cua Dai Bridge in Quang Ngai

NDO—A groundbreaking ceremony was held on December 18 for the construction of Cua Dai Bridge at Co Luy Bac hamlet, Nghia Phu commune, in the central province of Quang Ngai.

The bridge crossing the Tra Khuc River, will link Tinh Khe commune and Nghia Phu commune, in Quang Ngai province. It measures 3,700 metres in length, including a section of the bridge measuring over 1,276-metre bridge section.

The reinforced concrete bridge will be built at a total cost of VND2, 250 billion, which will be sourced from Government bonds and the provincial capital.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Ngoc Cang said that the Cua Dai bridge project is one of the key projects of the province, aiming to perform the breakthrough task of developing infrastructure, especially transport and urban infrastructure. The Cua Dai bridge is part of the planning of the Dung Quat - Sa Huynh coastal road, which was approved by the Prime Minister.

After completion, the project is expected to help shorten the distance between Tinh Khe and Nghia Phu communes from over 20 kilometres to 2.5 kilometres, while it will also contribute to promote the expansion and development of Quang Ngai's urban space toward the sea, becoming a highlight of Quang Ngai city's future.

The bridge is scheduled to be put into use in 2020.
