Ensuring progress, quality of compilation of Vietnam encyclopedia: Deputy PM

NDO - Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam asked the Steering Council for the compilation of a Vietnam Encyclopedia to create appropriate mechanisms for scientists to participate in compiling the encyclopedia to ensure its quality.

Deputy PM Dam, who is also the chairman of the council made the request at the working session with the council in Hanoi on December 20.

Bui Nhat Quang, Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences said that in 2017 specialised compilation boards mainly focused on completing the task on the building the specialised syllabuses under the Project on the compilation of the Vietnam Encyclopedia. Quang noted that the task is scheduled to be checked and taken over in 2018

At the meeting, the council members also discussed issues related to the compilation of the entries of specific sectors, payment mechanism for scientists who have made comments on entries; among others.

Deputy PM Dam noted that two years after its launch, the Steering Council has worked on right track and it should continue building principles for its operations in the next period while eliminating unnecessary activities.

He asked the Management Board of the project on the compilation of the encyclopedia to empower the head of the Compilation Board to allocate funds to its compilation members based on the progress and quality of their work to ensure the efficiency of the project.
