NDO - President of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front (VFF) Tran Thanh Man visited a number of Christian institutions in Ho Chi Minh City on December 22 and extended his greetings on the occasion of the upcoming Christmas season.
At the HCMC Archbishop Residence, Man highly valued the contributions of Archbishop Bui Van Doc and local Catholics in realising the socio-economic development goals.
He expects the HCMC archbishop to mobilise priests and Catholics to continue adhering to the great national unity bloc towards the common goal of bringing the country to a higher level of development.
For his part, Archbishop Doc thanked the Party and State and expressed his wish to be provided with favourable conditions in conducting their religious activities so that Catholic compatriots would be able to contribute further to national construction.
When visiting Cardinal Pham Minh Man, former Archbishop of HCMC, the VFF president extended his best wishes to the cardinal and expects him to continue making contributions to strengthening the great national unity.
Cardinal Man stated that he and the other Catholics are aware that a good Catholic must be a good citizen, therefore the Catholic community always wants to accompany the country in its process of national construction and defence.
At the General Confederation of Evangelical Churches of Vietnam (Southern), the VFF leader highly appreciated the general confederation’s charitable activities and expects the Christians to work with the VFF to jointly bring the country forward.
Thanking the Party and State, Pastor Phan Vinh Cu said that the general confederation and its members will make further efforts to make substantive contributions to national construction and defence.
