Tet gifts presented to the poor nationwide

NDO - State officials presented gifts to the poor across the country, on February 4, as the Lunar New Year holiday (Tet) is less than just two weeks away.

President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Tran Thanh Man, alongside the Can Tho city authorities, visited and presented 100 social houses to low-income people. The presents, worth over VND40 million (nearly US$1,800), were donated by businesses.

In addition, 100 gift packages worth VND1 million each and five kilogrammes of rice were also presented.

Over 50 needy workers at industrial parks and export processing zones in Can Tho city also received 50 gifts worth VND1.3 million each.

On the same day, Secretary of the Nghe An provincial Party Committee Nguyen Dac Vinh paid a visit and presented Tet gifts to the workers at the Bac Vinh industrial park.

On the occasion, the delegation also gave 122 gifts to poor households in Dien Van and Dien Hai communes and 108 gifts to needy people in Quynh Loc and Quynh Vinh communes.
