More gifts presented to the poor and policy beneficiaries

NDO – Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien on February 12 visited and presented 300 gifts, each worth VND 1 million, to poor cancer patients in Ho Chi Minh City, on the occasion of the upcoming Tet (lunar New Year) festival.

As Tet is only a few days away, the National Institute of Haematology and Blood Transfusion has put on six free coaches to bring its patients and their relatives back to their hometowns to celebrate the traditional festival.

As an annual activity to care for the poor and families of policy beneficiaries ahead of Tet, Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper presented Tet gifts to the targeted groups in Lang Son, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Tra Vinh, and An Giang provinces.

On the morning of February 12, a delegation of National Assembly deputies from central Thanh Hoa province handed over 20 Tet gifts to low-income households and children with disabilities in Dong Son district.

Meanwhile, the provincial Association in Support of Vietnamese Handicapped and Orphans presented 50 gifts worth VND25 million in total to orphans and people with disabilities in Nong Cong district.

In Thua Thien – Hue province, the provincial authorities presented 120 pairs of chung (square) cakes and 120 Tet gifts to poor households in Hong Trung commune, A Luoi district.

Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Corporation’s (Vinacomin) trade union has delivered a total of 1,122 gifts worth VND1 million each to its poor workers to help them celebrate a warm and happy Tet.
