NDO – The General Department of Politics under the Ministry of Public Security launched the youth month at a ceremony held in Hanoi on February 27.

A wide range of activities are scheduled to take place during the programme, including voluntary campaigns, communication activities on building the image of exemplary policemen, and a youth festival.

The same day, a conference was held in Hanoi by the Ministry of Defence to vote for nominations for the most outstanding and promising youth union members in the armed forces in 2017.

Delegates at the event selected 22 finalists from more than 2,300 nominees for the titles, who stood out thanks to their vanguard role and excellent performances in youth campaigns in the army over the past year.

The finalists will be honoured at an awards ceremony in Hanoi on March 15, 2018.

The second Green Innovation Awards was recently launched in Quang Ninh province by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

The awards are designed for Vietnamese youngsters aged between 6 and 30 years whose entries should focus on environmental issues such as energy saving, environmentally-friendly products, biodiversity preservation, and waste recycling and treatment.
