Transport ministry to streamline administrative procedures

NDO - The Ministry of Transport will eliminate a mass of administrative procedures and business conditions in the road, rail, aviation, and waterway sectors in a bid to facilitate transport enterprises, according to the proceedings of a meeting held by the ministry on March 12.

Minister of Transport Nguyen Van The emphasised that the review and elimination of administrative procedures and business conditions is a regular task used to create favourable conditions for the people and enterprises, while helping save costs and time.

Nguyen Tri Duc, head of the Transport Ministry's Office said that the ministry has streamlined 443 administrative procedures over the past five years.

In 2014-2015, the ministry actively reviewed its administrative procedures and approved a plan for the simplification of transport administrative procedures which removed 79 procedures and simplified 228 other procedures.

Trinh Thi Hang Nga, director of the Legal Department under the Ministry of Transport, said that there are 570 business conditions overseen by the Transport Ministry, and the Legal Department will look at these conditions to eliminate any causing difficulties for enterprises, such as the conditions on capital scale and minimum capital, among others.

Director of the Aviation Administration of Vietnam, Dinh Viet Thang, said that the sector has proposed to cut 53 out of 78 business conditions (equivalent to 67.95% of total conditions).

In the road sector, more than 66% of business conditions have been proposed for elimination in order to facilitate enterprises.
