NDO – Around 30 photos and 15 posters featuring life and culture in Hanoi are being displayed at an exhibition that opened in Paris on September 9, as part of events in France to mark the 70th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day.
Visitors to the exhibition can explore the beauty of Hanoi’s Old Quarter, life and culture in Vietnam’s capital, as well as efforts made by Hanoi authorities, people and partners in preserving the city’s treasured heritage.
Attending the event, Tran, a French-Vietnamese painter, said that it is the first time an exhibition featuring Hanoi’s Old Quarter is being held in France. He also praised the artistic quality of the works on display as they capture the charm of Hanoi’s streets.
Joseph Ahekoe, Director of Publications of Francophone News magazine, said that he really enjoyed the exhibition, adding that the photos remind him of good memories from his recent trip to Hanoi, a city he has always admired.
Olivier Charles, a Parisian, commented that the photos of Hanoi in the past and at present impressed visitors, including those who haven’t visited the city yet.
The exhibition, co-organised by Vietnam Culture Centre, Vietnamese Embassy in France and Hanoi municipal People’s Committee, is open free for the public until September 19.
