NDO – The Vietnamese Workers’ Association in France (VWAF) held a ceremony on May 21 to celebrate the 127th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (1890-2017).
The event was attended by Vietnamese Ambassador to France Nguyen Ngoc Son, Chairman of General Union of Vietnamese in France Ngo Kim Hung, and VWAF Secretary Van Na.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador Nguyen Ngoc Son said it was the third time he joined the celebration of President Ho’s birth anniversary held by the VWAF.
He stressed that although President Ho had passed 48 years ago, his career and thought, as well as his ethnic moral example was still a shining example in the country’s revolutionary cause.
On behalf of Vietnamese people in France, VWAF Secretary Van Na vowed to preserve and promote the Vietnamese tradition, strengthen solidarity and keep in mind contributions made by Uncle Ho and ancestors.
Kim Ngoc, an 80-year-old woman who came to France in 1949, said that she was proud to be Vietnamese. Thanks to Uncle Ho’s great achievements, Vietnamese people can enjoy independence and freedom, she said.
Vietnamese-French Dominique Amani shared that her late father, Ngo Van Do, had a deep respect for Uncle Ho and maintained a deep attachment to his motherland of Vietnam. She said she was moved to join the event, expressing her love and admiration for Uncle Ho - the hero of the national liberation.
