Vietnam is considered inferior to other competitors in terms of both qualification and physical strength, however, the ambition, determination and fighting spirit of national coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his Vietnamese players will be on par, if not stronger, than their opponents.

Vietnam will face very tough opponents at the upcoming U20 World Cup, Tuan said, affirming that despite difficulties and challenges lying ahead, the team will strive to rise above all and compete with honour and pride, aiming to transmit a vivid image of Vietnamese football to international friends.

As scheduled, U20 Vietnam will land at Seoul Incheon Airport at 6.40am local time (1.40am Vietnamese time) and then travel by bus to Mokpo sports centre, where they will train before officially commencing their World Cup campaign.

On May 14, U20 Vietnam will play a friendly match against U20 Vanuatu, which is said to have a relatively similar playing style with U20 New Zealand, the first opponent of Vietnam at the World Cup arena.

U20 Vietnam will arrive in Cheonan, the official competition venue for Group E matches, on May 18 in preparation for the Group E opener against U20 New Zealand two days later.
