NDO – Volleyball players from Japan dominated the Tuan Chau Ha Long Open 2018, a women’s one-star tournament hosted by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) Beach World Tour, which officially wrapped up at the Tuan Chau International Resort in Ha Long city, QuangNinh province, on May 12.

The championship title and a US$20,000 in cash prize went to Nagata and Kumada, while two other doubles,Mizoe/Hashimoto and Suzuki/Sakaguchi, ranked second and third, respectively.

Starikov and Chorin from Israel ranked fourth at the tournament.

The four-day competition featured the participation of 18 teams from 12 countries, including Canada, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Israel, and the hosts Vietnam.

This is the 15th time that the women’s beach volleyball competition has been organised on Tuan Chau Island. From its humble origins as a domestic event, the tournament has been elevated into a continental-level event of the Asian Volleyball Federation and has become an official destination on the FIVB’s Beach World Tour in 2018.
