NDO - A number of Vietnamese travel agencies are taking part in SATTE, South Asia’s leading travel show, which is being held from January 31 to February 2 in the Indian capital of New Delhi.

The exhibition offers opportunities for travel companies, airlines, hotels and tour organisers to seek out and meet partners.

The participating Vietnamese travel agencies include Vietravel, Thien Nien Ky, Victoriatour, Amega and Hanoi Tour, who are also joined by Director of Ho Chi Minh City’s Tourism Department Bui Ta Hoang Vu.

In the afternoon, Director Vu had a meeting with Suman Billa, Joint Secretary of the Indian Ministry of Tourism, during which he informed the Indian official that Vietnam is working hard to launch a direct flight between Ho Chi Minh City and New Delhi as soon as possible.

For his part, Joint Secretary Suman Billa agreed on the need to establish a direct flight between the two countries in order to increase the number of Indian tourists to Vietnam and vice versa.

At a later meeting with the Vietnamese Ambassador to India, the Ho Chi Minh City official stated that he expects the embassy to continue promoting the city’s tourism in India.

Meanwhile Ambassador Ton Sinh Thanh introduced the potential of the Indian tourism market and pledged to act as a bridge to connect Indian and Vietnamese travel companies.
