NDO - The eighth annual Southern Land Cuisine Festival opened at Dam Sen park in Ho Chi Minh City on May 31, offering visitors a chance to savour the best flavours and specialties of the region.

The event displays 60 booths by 40 restaurants, hotels, cultural, and tourist businesses from cities and provinces in the region, including Thua Thien – Hue, Dong Nai, Binh Thuan, Ben Tre, Tien Giang, and Ho Chi Minh City, among others.

Visitors to the event are invited to taste the culinary essence of the participating localities and explore the art of the tea ceremony, the farming of organic fruits and vegetables, and traditional crafts, such as mat making, brocade weaving, and noodle making.

The festival also includes performances of UNESCO-recognised Don Ca Tai Tu, a traditional musical art form of the south, and folk songs and dances of Ede ethnic groups.

Organised by the city’s Department of Tourism and Tourism Association, the event will run until June 3 at Dam Sen Park, 3 Hoa Binh Street, ward 3, district 11.
