NDO – The first flight on the Can Tho – Bangkok direct air route took off on June 6, transporting 180 passengers and departing from Vietnam’s Mekong delta city of Can Tho.

The direct air route was launched by the Travel and Transportation Services Company WorldTrans in coordination with a number of domestic tourist companies.

Accordingly, WorldTrans will operate 28 chartered flights during the summer, from June to August, using the 180-seat Airbus 320 aircraft from VietJet Air. 5,000 tickets for the 28 flights on the route have been sold so far.

The flight from Can Tho city departs at 9:05am and the return flight from Bangkok at 7am, with the flight duration of 1 hour 25 minutes.

According to the Can Tho city authorities, the launch of the direct air route helps to open up new opportunities to promote tourism in Can Tho city and the Mekong delta localities in general to Thailand, one of the highest potential markets in the Southeast Asia.
